What is the Best Time to Schedule Newborn Session? The best time to photograph newborn babies is when they are still 5 to 12 days old on the day of your session. After this time, newborn babies aging 13 days to exactly 6 weeks old are more delicate and harder to pose due to muscle growth. They are a little harder to settle as they love to stretch and are no longer accustomed to fetal position. Session might consume more time than intended. Colic and baby acne can start to flare up during at this age. We accept advance booking, one-time reschedule is allowed if there will be any changes on baby’s arrival. Tentative window schedule will be given based on EDD. Keep us update once baby is born to finalize appointment date.

How do we prepare for the session with a baby?PREPARATION FOR THE NEWBORN SESSION Warm bathe baby – Bath relaxes and soothes the baby and makes them sleepy. Try to keep your baby awake before the session - This is a great way to guarantee baby will sleep thorough most of the session. Feed your baby 20 to 30 minutes before start of session – Feeding a full meal and burping baby maximizes session time, less crying, better sleep and relaxed parents. Have your little one dress in comfortable clothes – Clothes that are easy to unwrap without having to pull the layers over the head. Best to bring baby wearing a diaper and swaddled in a blanket. It is advisable to bring formula milk or breast milk in bottle and pacifier – Using bottle significantly reduces the duration of the photo session and takes 5 to 7 minutes to feed the baby, while breastfeeding can take up to 40 minutes. Baby won’t be stressed being moved to another location if he/she is already positioned during photo session. The use of pacifier stimulates the calming reflex of the baby. PREPARATION FOR THE INFANT OR FAMILY WITH BABY SESSION Make sure baby is well fed and had a proper sleep before scheduled photo shoot. We highly advised to book a timeslot that would perfectly match your baby’s mood to do photo session.
